About Us

The Delta Beta chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity started life in 1903 as the Pukwana Club. The original intent of the organization was to be in opposition to the elitism of Dartmouth's Greek scene. In 1907, finding that Sigma Nu, a national fraternity, shared many principles of the organization's original charter, Pukwana became a chapter of Sigma Nu. Sigma Nu's first house was purchased in 1911 and known as The Green Castle. In 1925 the chapter moved into its current house at 12 Webster Avenue. To protest the national fraternity's discriminatory policies Delta Beta went local in 1963. After a policy change at national, Delta Beta rejoined in 1984. Today, the chapter is known for its brotherhood of campus leaders, academic excellence, and '80s Party each term.
